Of mice and men

Based on John Steinbeck's 1937 classic tale, this drama tells the story of friends George (Gary Sinise, who also directed) and dim-witted gentle giant Lennie (John Malkovich), who wander the country during the Depression. They find work on a California farm and get closer to realizing their dream of settling down, but it all goes tragically wrong when the boss's wife (Sherilyn Fenn) makes advances.

Gary Sinise and John Malkovitch are fabulously paired in this movie. It's impressive that they made Malkovitch look like a gentle giant, even though he is not a very large actor. It manages to capture the flavor and smallest detatils of the bindlestiffs working on the barley harvest, while unfolding coplex, fully formed characters and real uan issues from one of Steinbeck's greatest novels. This is 1 of those rare times when the movie is allmost as good if not equal to the book and I highly recomend watching it and also reading it! The reason the three stars is I am not a fan of cursing so it was hard to hear alot of the words although used in the book. But other than that a great movie to watch once in a while.
